Your information
Privacy policy
The Patient Machine is a single-player game that runs on your device. We do not collect, share or sell personal information. The game engine sends Unity anonymous technical information about your device, as explained below.
Effective date: 12 October 2026
Who is responsible
The Patient Machine is provided by Samuel Levens ("we", "us").
Privacy and support contact: sjlevens+patientmachine@gmail.com.
Game saves on your device
The game saves your progress (your network, its stock, probes, routes and the game clock) and a backup copy in the app's private storage on your device, so you can continue where you left off and recover a damaged save. These files never leave the device through the game.
There is no player account, no developer-operated server and no cloud sync in the current game. Device backups and restoration provided by Google, Apple or your device manufacturer are separate services governed by their own settings and policies.
What the game does not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services of our own.
- No in-app purchases.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or similar device data.
The Android app declares the standard internet permission so that a future version can offer optional cloud saves. If that changes what the game sends, we will update this policy before the new version is released and describe exactly what is sent, where and why.
The game engine (Unity)
The Patient Machine is built with Unity. The free edition of Unity that we use sends Unity Technologies anonymous technical information about your device when the game is installed or started, and we cannot switch this off. It describes the hardware and software the game runs on, for example the graphics hardware and driver, the graphics API, the amount of memory, the screen resolution and the Unity version.
It does not include your saves or any account, and we do not receive it. Unity handles it under the Unity Privacy Policy.
If you contact us
If you send a support or privacy request, we receive the contact information and message you provide, plus any screenshots or details you choose to include. We use this only to respond and to investigate the issue. Please do not send passwords, payment details or information unrelated to your request.
Our contact address uses Gmail, so Google also processes support email under its Privacy Policy. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and related issues, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Retention and deletion
Saves remain in the app's storage until that storage is removed. On Android, clear the game's storage in system settings or uninstall the game. On iOS, delete the app rather than offloading it. These actions erase your progress; check your device's backup settings separately if you also want to remove backup copies. We cannot see, restore or erase a save that exists only on your device.
Children's privacy
The game is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian with a question, contact us at the address above.
This website
These pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. They contain no analytics, advertising scripts or contact forms of our own. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security. See GitHub Pages information and the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Your rights and policy updates
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to raise a concern with your privacy regulator. Because the game holds your data only on your device, most requests can be met with the deletion steps above; for anything you have sent us directly, contact the address above.
We will update this policy whenever the game's data practices change and show the new effective date here.
